I first became aware of Melissa and Doug products as a preschool teacher at Montessori Children's Village in Findlay, Ohio. The director of the school recognized the quality and durability of the products and purchased any pieces that fit into the Montessori Curriculum.
These self correcting number counter puzzles were a favorite of the students of all ages (2 1/2-6, typically in a Montessori room). We also loved the alphabet as a multi-level learning tool in the classroom. Students can use this puzzle to work on basic logic skills by completing the puzzle, learn letter recognition and also to make the connection better Upper and Lower case letters.
